Stretch and shrink - that's how elastin works in the human body

As the largest organ of the body, the skin performs a number of functions. First of all, it protects our physical shell from external influences (impact, pressure, sunlight, microorganisms, chemicals, etc.) that could endanger our health. It also regulates body temperature - it helps the body to work with heat or cold and prevents overheating or hypothermia. Some substances are absorbed by the skin, while others are excreted.
The skin consists of 3 basic layers:
● epidermis (skin),
● dermis (the skin),
● hypodermis (subcutaneous tissue).
We are particularly interested in the middle layer of the dermis (scar) because it contains the substances that most influence the elasticity and youthful appearance of the skin. Elastin, collagen and hyaluronic acid.
